The Bathroom Really is a Think Tank !

The to do lists start in the middle of the night on one of the four or five trips to the bathroom with D. Always knew some of my best thinking was done in the bathroom. So while waiting to help D back and forth I think of all the ways I can improve his life and make things easier for him. The things we take for granted, anything to save a step, to improve his rest, to make his life happier or better. I pray, I listen and I think.. All those trips to the bathroom with him help out a lot. I got up this morning with a renewed sense of excitement, lots of bright ideas....whoooo hoooo here we go....

First things first, move furniture, move lamps, move tables, move everything and nothing works....bright idea...back to the bathroom for more thinking. New direction, Jeremy comes over and stays with D for a couple of hours so I can get to work and turn some of those ideas into reality.

Finally when I get home we are ready to rock and roll...a wheelchair, Rob and Justin installed the grab bars, new bright sheets for the bedroom, a comfy mattress pad to sleep on, United Medical delivers a trapeze bar for D's bed (no pole dancing as Jill so fondly implies).seems like I keep forgetting one thing what was it that I was afraid would happen something in the bathroom....D is back to bathroom...he calls me in there and says - "this toothpaste is nasty !" He has just brushed his teeth with hand soap...Oh yeah note to self move hand soap away from toothbrush holder.

Today we laughed in the face of GLIO, we beat her back today. We took charge and said even if we have to live with you we are going to live well, laugh often and love forever. Today Glio was not our focus, she was the afterthought. Today, living and praising GOD was our purpose. Today was about

LOVING EACH OTHER TO HEAVEN AND BACK

..to Heaven and back, love that! The two of you together are a formidable force. I can just imagine how bad that soap must have tasted, esp. if he was expecting "minty!" No pole dancing...lol!!!
