Kermit, Baseball and Bo

He came from from the hospital wearing a Winnie the Pooh baby gown, wrapped in a baby sheet that said "I Love Mommy". I didn't have anything small enough for him because he was so tiny. He loved Winnie the Pooh from then on.

The first date we went on with Jill and him together, D and I took them to a Winnie the Pooh movie. Bo proceeds to offer to hold her hand just in case she was to get scared. The two of them sat a few seats away from us and Bo sang "Winnie the Pooh" songs during the entire movie. It was so cute ! They were barely 5 years old I believe.

Bo loved the Muppets, everything Muppets. Kermit the frog was his hero, we saw every Muppet movie, he had a muppet sleeping bag, muppet pillow, muppet posters, muppet record albums, muppet puzzles, muppet muppet muppet. We ate, drank and slept muppets. I still have his Kermit from when he was 2 years old.
This picture is from his birthday, he is driving his firetruck, holding his rifle and proudly displaying his Kermit wallhanging. He was styling at a very early age. That boy loved guns early on too.

Baseball was another of his passions. It was not unusal to see him just carrying around a ball, bouncing it, throwing it at the wall or a window. Carter Dean and Ian remind me of him in that way. They love baseball just like Uncle Bo did. D, Bo and I collected a massive amount of baseball cards when he was growing up. It was a competition to see who could get the best cards.
One of the cutest things about Bo when he played baseball was watching him in the outfield. He wouldn't wear a regular baseball hat, he had to wear this plastic hat and he would take it off and spin it on the ground - around and around. It was hilarious. Good thing those little guys could never hit the ball out that far when they were that little or he would have been mortified.

Then there is that loud noise thing again - here is a kid that grew up to listen to Metallica, heavy metal bands, play the drums and piano, have a bass in his car that you could hear before you saw him, joined the military where we all know they have nothing but loud noises but when he was little he hated them. One year for Christmas he got a tool bench and everytime he hit the nail on the head, he shut his eyes because he didn't like the sound.

What a crazy, funny, loving and wonderful man the child of mine grew to be. I love looking back at this little boy and seeing, remembering the who we were and what we became. I am thankful for the years, the hardships, the tears, the laughter and the love that GOD blessed me with when HE and HE alone gifted me Bo.

I am really glad you are doing these blogs about Bo. I wish I had met him. I love the pics though!
