Yesterday I spent the afternoon with some of my wonderful friends celebrating a birthday. It was a spur of the moment invitation from them and decision on my part to just drop everything and go to their house. That's the kind of friends we have become. Whatever, whenever, just do it. I don't call Lynn Lynn, she is fondly known to me as BB. It's her nickname. She laughs when I call her that and she has an infectious laugh, her eyes twinkle, her heart opens up with love and she gets it. She gets me.
Her and Dewayne are funny together. He talks all the time, I mean all the time and when she tries to tell me a story, he starts talking and she stops, looks him in the eyes and says very calmly "Do you mind letting me finish telling my story before you start." They make me laugh, they are generous to a fault, they have beautiful, loving children and crazy dogs. Their house is a home full of love and adventures. Lynn would give you the shirt off her back and Dewayne could trade you out of your underwear for a pair of broken shoelaces before you even knew what had happened.
They love GOD, their country, their children, their parents and their friends. I am so fortunate that they count me as a friend.
They are just one of those many blessings that came into my life when Bo was killed. If he had not received his Heaven date, maybe our paths would never have crossed. These are the things I cherish and the reasons that I thank GOD for gifting me Bo for the time I had him, because of HIM I have been gifted new friends who bless and fill my life in new and fun ways.
