CHRISTMAS LETTERS ! BAH HUMBUG

It's that time of year when people send out the dreaded family Christmas letters. Some people love these things....the one time of year when the take the opportunity to catch up with long lost friends and family with a bulk mail subscription. People that they never talk to all year long, but once a year they sit down and write a glowing letter of all the accomplishments of their children, spouse, grandchildren etc....

Oh, I used to subscribe to this theory that it was important to communicate in this age old tradition, but after years of hurt, anger and pain. I refuse.

To many mispelled words, the look of anquish on my kids faces and the silly way you count the number of sentences each one had, much less let me misname something or forget someone. No, I quit, never again will I be one of those people.

Now, don't get mad I don't judge those people who send these letters out it fullfills some need within them to share with others. Go for it. It is just not for me. Just take a minute to look at this from a different view:

A letter to the relatives of Mary - mother of Jesus

Dear relatives,
Well, it has been quite a year for us.

The angel Gabriel visited our family. Zechariah suffered an afflication and became mute after the visit, then Elizabeth in her old age became pregnant, what a shock, surprise and blessing that was.

Well, guess who came for another visit during the sixth month of Elizabeth's pregnancy. Gabriel came to visit sweet Mary. Gabriel informed Mary that she to was going to have a baby, the Son of God. Surprise and Shock ! Mary was a virgin and was to marry Joseph. How was this to be?

Dear relatives, nothing is impossible with God. The Holy Spirit came upon Mary, she became pregant, Elizabeth gave birth to a son name "John" and Zechariah can speak again. Joseph married Mary and she became the Mother of the Son of God.

He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. Because of God's Son we are all promised eternal life with Him in Heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Saviour.

Merry Christmas Dear Relatives !
