Dear God,
Today is Ian's 8th birthday...it seems such a short time ago that his Uncle Bo was here to hold him at his dedication at church. He prayed over him and promised to help us all raise him and teach him your ways. He committed himself to help us make him the man you wanted him to be...today Ian will walk this earth beside the people who love him as much as we loved Bo, who will cherish him in the same deep wonderful way and we will pick up the load that his Uncle Bo carried for him and we will make sure that nothing goes undone for this child and his brother in their walk with you.
We all committed our lives that day not just for Ian, but Uncle Bo was there for Carter Dean's dedication to God also..he took those roles seriously. He took the honor of being their uncle seriously. He loved those boys with every part of who he was. Uncle Bo is with you now walking in Heaven embracing your teachings, loving every moment..He so loved you Lord Jesus, I want to teach Ian and Carter Dean to have that same compassion and joy for the Lord that he had .. give me the strength, light of your love and joy to pass the same love of the Lord on to them that we were able to pass on to Uncle Bo and their Mother..if it is the only gift I can give my children and grandchildren it is worth more than any gift of silver or gold..it is the gift of eternal life.
