Tornado Tragedy

In light of the events of today my blog tonight is dedicated to all the people who have been effected by the tornados, storms and events that have taken place today.

Nothing in my life can compare to the devastation and complete turmoil of losing everything and everyone in a tornado. The ugliness of the storms aftermath lingers long after the storms path of destruction is over. The unknown, the what if's, the why not's, the should have been, the could have been's, the why did I. All the questions that in a second could have or would have changed a life or lives and now are just words on a paper or a whisper spoken to an empty space.

A tornado, a storm rips apart a community, a neighborhood destroying everything in it's path. It is like a war, it may or may not takes prisoners, it cares not for your financial background, your religous afflication, your maritial status or your race. You age doesn't matter, you size or your weight. It is random, cruel and heartless. It is displeasing to all your senses and all you want to do is forget. You want to pinch your self to see if you were dreaming. If only it were a nightmare and you could wake up and it would be over.

It is after the storm is over that you reflect on the true destruction of that night. How will their lives be put back together? Will families unite, will they bond and turn to GOD for strength and comfort? Will they throw their arms around each other and protect those they love or will the losers come out to riot and steal from those who have lost so much. Will they rebuild not only their hearts but their homes? Will they have church on Sunday even when they don't have a church? Will they cry out to GOD in thanksgiving and praise or will they curse HIM for their misfortune?

If you were a storm victim what and how would you handle your choices? Please pray for everyone and their families as well as those who have gone to serve and aid all the communities damaged by this line of storms.

Tonight, tomorrow and the next day and the next, let us cry out to GOD for thanksgiving and HIS mercy and grace to rest upon these families. Let us praise GOD for those who are able to help and ask for strength, courage, wisdom and love for all to willing to rebuild.

Tonight, hug your loved ones a little tighter, thank GOD a little longer and sleep a little sweeter that you were saved from a terrible tornado.
