Thursday, terrific, trendy, tasty tacos, tardy, Thursday !!! -Loved it !! Today was a first in so many ways.
D almost always paid for lunch when we went out. Sometimes on a rare occasion I would buy and he would laugh about it. It was a big treat for him, of course the money all comes out of the same pocket we would say, but it was always nice for me to buy for him once in a while. It made me feel like I was treating him and it made him feel special. I don't normally have anyone buy my lunch anymore. Usually I eat a solitary lunch at home or in the jeep driving down the road.Tasty Taco Thursday was special! Today, my sweet sweet dear friend - adopted son Daniel and I met at D, Daniel and I's favorite taco stand for lunch. Daniel bought my lunch. What a kind gesture. It touched my heart in a way that he will never know. A simple gesture, a gentle, kind, unplanned and welcome example of love. We shared a meal, laughter, secrets, and as usual, he counseled me on my many issues. Daniel is more than an adopted son, he has the burden of being my extra ears, my moral compass in a lot of circumstances since D is no longer here to guide me. It is not a role he asked for, but just one that he takes in stride and prays alot over I'm sure. Lunch really tasted good today over the laughter and in the sunshine. Thanks Daniel !
The day just kept getting better and better - my bestest best friend Mikey and I had a date - dinner at PF Chang's and he had bought me a ticket to go with him to hear the Arkansas Mass Gospel Choir and Black Pearl at Central United Methodist Church in Rogers. He invited, paid for the tickets and didn't want me to pay him back. Another generous gift of time and money. A simple gesture of friendship and love that warmed my heart. We were enveloped by the music as the Holy Spirit surrounded us. We becamed impassioned by the lyrics to the song GRACE and soon found tears streaming down our faces. We felt the love of CHRIST in our midst and the power of GOD in our presences as HE moved from person to person touching us and reassuring us that HE and HE alone is in control.
Terrific Thursday - too many blessings to count - but most of all I count Daniel and Mikey as the top two of the day !!!!
