Today another milestone has been reached. Four months ago today my sweet sweet husband received his "Master's Happiness" by being called home. WOW !!!! so much has changed in such a short time - it seems like life has just caught me in a whirlwind and I am living so fast some days that I don't know which way is up. Other days the hours just drag.
Yesterday was an amazing day at church, service was a blessing, my sweet friend Brooke had spent the night with me and we attended church together. I was asked to serve the LORD with the communion meditation and as usual MY LORD and MASTER served me with a message for all that allowed me to glorify HIS HOLY NAME. HE also directed Daniel with a super message that touched my heart and as usual made me cry when he spoke of the love that husbands have for their wives.
After church, Bo's CVMA chapter was having their monthly meeting at our home. It was a blessing to have his commrades in our home. It was something that D and I had always wanted to do as a way to honor them for all they did for Bo and for us after Bo was killed. Beautiful day with beautiful people. Our home was filled with laughter, love, fellowship and new friends. Just the way we like it.
The best part of the day was yet to come. Ian spent the night with me and what a terrific gift he is. We were exhausted after a day of swimming, playing skip-bo, eating junk food, watching "crap" tv and just being together we decided to go to bed. I thought 'ALL RIGHT' sleep - no way though, this little booger wanted to talk and talk we did. He talked and talked.
He talked about his Uncle Bo and his Papaw, he asked who reminded me the most of his Uncle Bo and I said he did. That sometimes when I forgot I actually called him Bo because they both liked to torment me and tease me. Ian delighted in telling me stories about how he, Uncle Bo and Papaw stuck a toy snake in my pants at the cabin, how Uncle Bo pretended to cut my hair when I was sleeping and always, always threw me in the pool.
He asked me who reminded me most of his Papaw and I said "Bo always did, but I guess that now it would be Daniel" Ian said "That's because of his love for the LORD." out of the mouths of babes. I love the fact that he gets it, that he sees it, that he knows who in his life loves the LORD, his Papaw, his Uncle Bo, Daniel. He said that it was rather peculiar that men like Papaw, Uncle Bo and Daniel are all men of GOD and all liked the woods. There is something there Tata, he said. We had a beautiful heartfelt conversation about men of GOD and how they chose to live their lives.
I am blessed to have such wonderful men of GOD in my life, Ian, Daniel, Bo and D. Thank you for being the example to the people of my life - you make a difference even when you don't realize it.
