This is where it all began. A group of a few good men coming together with a common goal to achieve something for everyone. Bo standing proud, so excited about having a new squad of fellow soldiers to be with. A bond so unique and different that if haven't been tied by those strings of family unity of the military by serving, marriage or parenthood, you really don't 'GET IT'.
Some people didn't quite understand what they were about, but others saw the dream, the vision and embraced it. When Bo and Lori died, the vision didn't die with him, because it was a FAMILY, and families are not just one, they are many and you carry on, you embrace one another, you continue to love, you grow and you strive to achieve more so that the dreams of your loved ones will become reality.
After April 3, 2010, they lost a family member too, by they stood tall and as they grieved, Thumper and the CVMA AR 7-2 stood by in the wings waiting for us, ready for the call. Then they honored us and served at D's funeral.
Today they have become Bo all rolled up into multiple faces, shapes and sizes. Lori lives on in the stories they tell about her. We laugh and joke about their last earthly day and the love they had for each other. They allow me to grieve and grow.
On Thanksgiving of 2010 they honored Karen Parker and me with the first family patches ever awarded.can we say "humbled".
They have allowed me into their lives, the joys, heartbreaks, success, celebrations, weddings, births - every aspects of their lives they share with me. They allow me to pray over them and for them and we as a family rejoice at the success of each other and laugh at the sillyness of one another. There is no competition between us as we stand together, we never ever want to see anyone fail and no one cheers louded from the sidelines than the other.
But they all make sure that BoMomma is taken care of. I love each and everyone of them with all my heart. They are filling up those vaste empty spaces and make smiles appear when the days seem cloudy.
We are a family, a team, a squad - a group of people who spend their time helping each other, veteran's, strangers, and live life to the fullest.
Sometimes that requires we ride motorcyles, sometimes we just get kicked out of perfectly good airplanes....but whatever it is we as a family live to be the best for each other that we can be.
