Christmas time is fast approaching and life can be very difficult and trying for everyone not just me. The young, the old, those who have lost much and those who don't know Christ. Those who don't truly understand the reason for the season and those who do not live by faith but live by commericalism and greed.
Unless your heart is filled with the spirit of Christ and you are driven by a higher power you will become lost in the chaos, obsessed with the latest and greatest and strive to obtain those things that others do not have. The need to fill your packages with gifts that will sit in closets, go unworn for months, regifted later, donated to Goodwill, tossed at the first opportunity or sold at a family garage sale when no one is looking.
A society of over achievers, a group of people who feel entitled to the best of the best who are lost to the true meaning of Christ. Where people are afraid to say Merry Christmas and write Xmas because they are to lazy to write Christmas-where waiting in line and being kind to others is unheard of because getting the next sale of and overpriced item for a spoiled child who has a closet full of unused items and unworn clothes is more important than a simple thank you.
Where parents who can't buy food or pay utilities can still manage to buy beer and cigarettes rather than a small book, socks or doll for a child on Christmas.
Yes, we are a very mixed society but we are who we are, we made ourselves this way when we got caught up in doing the so called "correct" thing - when we took prayer out of schools, when divorce became easy and parents stopped fighting for each other and their families, when we took the Pledge out of schools and prayer out of all school functions, the daily Bible readings, the discipline from teachers, respect for one another. We did this trying to please everyone yet being responsible to no one.
How and why did the damn break, who can we blame, blame yourself and no one else, each and everyone of us took part when we sat back and allowed our liberties to be taken away one by one. How do we fix it? By raising our children and our grandchildren as strong children of conviction. Of people with strong moral values, people who get involved to make a difference, of changers of the way we are, of believers in Christ. Nothing is impossible if we believe in HIM and HE leads our lives.
Fight for your marriages, fight for your children, fight for our beliefs and stand up for CHRIST ! Put CHRIST back in CHRISTMAS. Only buy America made, donate to charties that support the Christain movement, veteran's, homeless, etc., in memory of a loved one. Make a difference in honor of JESUS !!! It is after all HIS BIRTHDAY - Not a day of retail therapy as much as I love that !!!
