Half-Staff

Some people need to be reminded as to what HALF-STAFF means.

It sickens my heart to believe that for one minute we have become a society that would allow or even think of allowing a sad misguided, broken down drug addicted person to be honored with our American Flag flown at half-staff. What's next porno movie stars, convicted murderers, child molesters, where will it stop. No where if we don't stand up for the true meaning of Half-Staff and our country.

My Poppa, my Father-in-law, our son, many of our friends and family, so many,many others have been maimed, killed, physicially and mentally destroyed fighting for our freedoms for our country.

For the first time in the history of our country we have fewer veteran's in leadership in our country than ever before. Therefore we begin to see the errosion of our rights and freedoms. Slowly, oh so slowly they will slip away. Next you will see full military burials being requested for the worst of the worst. Where will you be? When will you take a stand ?

Below is a copy of the true meaning of half-staff after you read it maybe it will change your thoughts of why only those who truly deserve this honor should be afforded it.
I'll para-phrase, a lowered flag in battle signals defeat, our flag remained aloft at Fort Sumner at HALF-STAFF, still visible above the walls, thru-out the night giving proof that we were not defeated. Why ...only half way? Because a torn and bleeding patriot clung to the rope, holding it as he died, using the last ounce of his strength...... to keep the flag up. That is why the flag is raised completely to the top and slowly lowered to HALF-STAFF to HONOR a FALLEN HERO, symbolizing the deeds of a dying man who refused to allow the flag to fall and a NATION that would not be defeated.
