I Pray I Was Just Like Her !!

For years as we girls grow up we hear from others "Oh, you remind me so much of your Mother." or "you look just like your Mother" and "Your gonna be just like your Mother when you grow up."  Well, as I have gotten older and been blessed to spend more and more time with my wonderful grandsons, I want to be more and more like my daughter.  Don't get me wrong, I not saying there is anything wrong with my Mother, but this isn't about her, this is about my daughter.

When I am out with the boys, nine time out of ten, people mistake me for their Mom.  It makes me beam !!!! Why, because I am proud of who they are, of the fun we have, of the way they behave most of the time, of they way they treat others and the respect they show their elders.  They learned life lessons from their Mother.  They are a part of her and I pray that in some small way I was just like her when I was teaching her.

She is an awesome Mom, she spends time, energy that she doesn't have, timeless patience, and untold silent prayers to get through the day.  When she has a chance to go off and do for herself for once, she sets that aside and saves her time and money for time with the entire family.  She is selfish to a fault where the boys are concerned.

They created a Monster Drink just for our very own Monster Carter Dean !

She gives me the freedom to spend time with the boys, allowing us the opportunities to grow, laugh, share, learn and love together.

She embraces the changes in all of us as we find our new normals that have become the we that we are now.

She shares in our tears, our griefs and our losses, she relishes our wins, our success and our joys.  She is our greatest champion and runs to the forefront cheering the loudest whether we win or lose.

The Earkle Twins !!!!
She is my daughter, my gift from GOD, a blessing that will forever continue to grow in my heart.

You see when someone says to me "Wow, I thought you were their Mother."  I don't think about my looks, my age or anything other than "Thank you, that's the nicest thing you could have said to me." and in my heart, I hope that she thinks in some small way I might have contributed to her being that wonderful super MOTHER I wanted to be when she was growing up.

I love my Baby Girl !!!
I want to be just like her !!!!
