2011
Many years ago Michael and I crossed paths during a job situation. We worked together and then we didn't, however we were the lucky ones who continued to nurture our friendship, love each other and grow closer together.
D always welcomed my friends into our lives and encouraged me to do things with them rather than exclude them from our lives. Michael soon became his friend as well as friends of the entire family.
Michael is my rock, we travel together, laugh together, disagree and at times in the past we have even been upset with each other. But one of the things that separates Michael from others is that he is a "true" friend. He forgives me when I say something I shouldn't, when I ask for his forgiveness he knows I truly mean it. He accepts my faults and loves me anyway.
Michael and I cry together at times, grieve together and LORD, we laugh together.
Another thing that separated Michael is he doesn't just offer up those empty words of "if you need me let me know and I'll be there" . When I call, he comes running. The first time my battery died after D died, he was the one I called and he came an jump started my battery. No delay, no questions, no sighs, just jumped in his car and came.
He champions my causes and I his. We cheer each other on and root for opposite high school football teams.
One of his greatest gifts is that we worship together and share the love of the LORD, a passion for CHRIST.
Today I just wanted to take time to say I am so blessed to have a friend named Michael who will always be more family than friend. I love him and cherish him. I honor that friendship and pray that I will never be a disappointment to him. Thank you for all you do for me and mine Michael Baber. You are the BEST BESTEST FOREVER FRIEND!!!
