Sleep - Another Name for Love !

We slept well last night made it the entire night in the bed. Can't remember when was the last time was we slept in our real bed. Truth is we will never sleep together in our own bed again. That's a fact - think about that tonight when you lay down beside the one you love, snuggle close, take time to say "I love you" with meaning. Pray to our Father in Heaven with great thanksgiving for the blessing of the person next to you, the simple pleasure of that marriage bed with the lumpy mattress, the old sheets and not to pretty comforter. Remember that you never know when circumstances may change the simple pleasures of your life and what you once took for granted will be changed. It will never come this way again. You think you might not notice, but you will.

D was always the one who would get in one position at night and basically stay there for most of the night. I toss and turn, have to have a cool spot to lay my head on - now I find that just to lay near him, I lay perfectly still, sometimes I wonder if I'm breathing. It's become second nature and as I fall to sleep our breathing becomes a beautiful melody, in harmony with each other. Our bodies move in motion with one another turning together to save effort for D because of his lack of strength.

It is as if we were the only two people alive dancing together on the mountaintop, starlight all around and only GOD's music playing in our ears. Maybe where we sleep is unimportant, maybe how we sleep doesn't really matter, maybe the mere fact that we are able to sleep is a miracle in itself.

What really matters is that as we lay side by side, every night we pray and thank GOD in HEAVEN for that moment when we are holding one another - we realize it may be our last.

Thank you GOD for the beauty of the moment, for the LOVE of the person I am holding, for the peace of the night and the GLORY of your presence in our lives.
