Tonight we had Carter Dean's 4th Birthday party at Chuck E Cheese in Fayetteville. It was a grand event! Lot's of kids, more adults than kids, but it's probably a good thing. Adults need joy in their lives and believe me when I say this is a week that I need those smiling faces, little kid laughs, cupcake grins and silly dances.
Watching children play reminds us that life can be to complicated, to extreme, to hard. Sometimes you need to just take a break, play a game, act like a child, dance with the little ones, eat that well iced cupcake, have a piece of pizza, throw back your head and laugh.
For a brief few hours, forget about the bills, the job, the people you work with, set the recent death of your husband just to the corner of your mind instead of front and center and focus on happiness, joy and laughter. Be a kid again for a little bit. Share in the happiness of your grandchild, his friends and their families.
Make new friends, discover that some people really don't know who TaTa is and are surprised to find out she isn't some aging old "Grannie" but a rather well preserved woman -so Ms. Amy says.
Learning to start living again minute by minute is hard when you are standing alone, but you don't have to be lonely when you are surrounded by people who care about you and enjoy your company once you discover all you have to do is leave the house.
My glass is always half full - GOD keeps it that way - an over abundance of love, joy, friendship and happiness even in the sadness, hardest of times. Today has been a very difficult today, but GOD just smiles down on me, fills my glass full and puts a cherry on top - a party full of JOY !
Thank you GOD for my blessings today ! Thank you GOD for loving me enough to give me the strength to not go home, but to lead me to this birthday party. Thank you most GOD for Carter Dean helping me live better today than I did yesterday. Amen
