Learning to Ask For Help !

Guess What? I can ask for help, it's ok ! I found out tonight that I don't have to be everything, I don't have to do everything and when all else fails I can ask for help and there is someone out there who is ready, willing and able to help me.

Tonight it struck home just how much D was truly gone. I took my baby sister out to dinner for her birthday. We were having so much fun when we got to Pinnacle that we got out of the jeep, laughing, talking and just not paying any attention to anything but the blessing of being together.

Three hours later, after shopping and eating, we go to leave and the battery on the jeep is dead. Uh Oh - someone had left the lights on....guess who? You got it - me !!!!!

What to do, what to do? Who do I call? I want to call D, my first desire, my first thought is always to call D. He is my go to guy for everything that happens. Ok, think well, there are those people who have said all along if you need something just call, we will do anything for you just ask. Do you know how hard it is to ask someone to help when you are so used to having someone there, always there for you? It's extremely hard.

Well, I have a friend in Rogers (JoDee laughs, "You have a friend?" We get a big kick out of that. Standing in the parking lot laughing that I actually have "A" friend. I call Michael and he says "I'll be right there!" There were no questions, there was no hesitation, no excuses, no complaints. There was just a quick "I'll be right there!" Michael showed up in less than 10 minutes, coming to our rescue and had us on our way home in no time. A quick jump start and hugs all around.

That is when you realize it's ok to ask for help because those people who say they are there for you and will do anything all you have to do is ask truly mean it. Today, GOD showed me the wisdom in asking for help, the lesson in letting others in by allowing them to help and the blessing of the love that comes from the help received from others.

Tonight I thank GOD for the love of my baby sister, the joy of sharing her Birthday celebration with her, the laughter, the fun and the silliness that comes just by being with her. Tonight I thank GOD for my "friend in Rogers Michael Baber" for being my rescuer when I needed one. Thank you GOD for always being there when I need you. AMEN
