Today I went to the Social Security office to file for funeral expense benefits for D's death. It wasn't something I wanted to do, I didn't want him to die in the first place and the last place I wanted to be today was sitting in some government office filling out paperwork, answering unlimited amount of questions, not having the right forms, yada, yada, yada...WELL.....they have kleenex for crying widows and understanding claims representatives that will look at pictures of your husband, son and daughter like they are interested.
SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE as Gomer Pyle used to say - if you take time to sit in silence and pray - GOD will deliver you from your own foolishness and hand you over to GODLY people who will treat you kindly and respond as HE desires we all respond to one another. You will see HIS light shining all around.
They really have one of the better systems that I have ever seen, you check in at the screen, pick your option and wait be accessed by a counselor based on our choice. Then after your first interview you wait to see a specialist for your specific concern. They call you back and you are set to answer questions, sign forms and then go home.
What amazed me the most was the number of young young girls with babies, lots of babies and more on the way coming in there.
There were so many different races, colors and creeds in there. Many of these people had trouble with the option machine. That's were the social factor enters in here, not everyone is english or spanish, not everyone can read and write.
So....as good as GOD is to you, when you are in a situation like this, let HIS light shine in you and when you see someone struggling with a machine or circumstance that is foreign to them, offer to help. Yes, they can turn you down flat, they can be rude, they can even not understand you - but......you know that in that moment you have been one of HIS children to one of HIS children...you have let that little light shine.
Today my trip to the social security office was truly a social event. I was blessed by the people that my FATHER placed in my path, every last one of them.
Have a super great day !!!
