Sweet Home Alabama - Awesome place to visit, great food, fun people and I didn't even have to leave the state to enjoy all of it tonight.
Tonight one of my friends invited me to experience a first. My first cooking class, a new adventure and what a wonderful time we had. It was unbelievable. We didn't actually cook anything, but we watched an amazing chef demonstrate and we got to EAT !!!!
Now let me tell you this was no tasting menu, this was a full Southern style menu with full size courses and drinks with every course. We laughed, told stories and learned new tricks. I laughed so much I actually snorted twice at something that was so funny.
Chef shared his recipes from his Momma and tricks for cornbread - coat the corn muffin tin with butter and cornmeal - makes the corn muffins real crunchy - sooooo good.
Take a look at this menu
One of the ladies thought we were having way to much fun, I think she just wished she could be like we were and enjoy herself a little more.
Having fun like this was great, experiencing something new was so exciting and enjoyable and at the same time it makes me sad.
Before I would have jumped in the car, called D and talked ninety to nothing telling him everything. I could never wait to get home because I am always so excited to share everything with him. Just like buying a present for someone, I can never wait for that special day I just have to go ahead and give it to them. D did the same thing for me, we would buy each other presents and give them early not wanting to wait to share the surprise, we just wanted to see the excitement in the others eyes and face.
Tonight I realize how alone I am, there is no other to call to share my day and the fun things I did. Life has changed so much in such a short time. Oh, I will tell D tonight before I close my eyes for sleep, but it isn't the same and we all know it.
Somewhere in Heaven maybe GOD will allow D to hear about my day as I will go to sleep peacefully dreaming of D and his day in Sweet Home Heaven.
