GOD Sustains a Believer

A friend of mine gave me a book recently titled " Soaring on Broken Wings", the Foreword has captivated me. I have read and read Elisabeth Elliot's words because they have spoke to me in a manner that truly reflects how GOD has spoken to me so much in the past 13 months and many other times in my life.

The story is about the life of Kathy Bartalsky. "how she bore the fires as thousands in Christian history have borne them - by faith, by grace, by the blood of the LAMB. She was committed to CHRIST. Her surrender was never negotiable. It was HIS pathway she had chosen, a pathway that always leads to the cross. She accepted the cross, believing that death leads always to the glory of resurrection. We accept as common knowledge that GOD can save a sinner, yet we do not wholeheartedly believe that GOD can and will sustain a believer."

How many times people have said to me "I don't know how you do, I don't understand why, I'm sure you ask GOD all the time why HE let's these things happen to you." Honestly I can say "NO" - one thing I have never done is question GOD. I have always believed that HE is the one in control of my life and that HIS purpose is divine, that HIS reason is not for me to question. GOD does not make bad things happen to good people, but HE is the reason that we can survive the things that happens our lives. HE sustains us, HE lifts us up and HE holds us and comforts us.

D and I talked about this many times when Bo and Lori were killed - we talked about it when D was diagnosised with cancer, but it wasn't why GOD it was - ok GOD we don't understand this but we know that for whatever reason your plan is perfect, you will reveal all to us someday if there is a purpose in us knowing and by the time we get to HEAVEN it may not even matter anymore.

Carter Dean thinks that Papaw, Uncle Bo and Lori are spending their time in HEAVEN playing baseball, basketball and football. I LOVE IT !!! That is who GOD is ! HE provides peace and understanding where it is needed most, when it is needed most.

Jill believes that Bo went HEAVEN first, to be there to meet their Dad when it was time, to help JESUS prepare a place for their Dad. To be standing next toJESUS with arms wide open and that silly grin on his face when D got there. D was amazed when Jill told us that, it brought peace to him to reflect on the depth of her insight. I LOVE IT !!! That is who GOD is !! HE provides peace and understanding where it is needed most and when it is needed most.

I believe that GOD loved me before HE knew me, the Bible says so. I believe that the hairs on my head are numbered, the Bible says so. I believe that GOD in HIS infinite wisdom is using the events of my life to shape, mold and purify me into the child of GOD that can serve HIM whenever and where ever HE calls. I believe that no pain, sadness, tragedy, illness, hardness can separate me from the love of GOD because HE will never forsake me and I will never ever not LOVE HIM !!
