Recently I picked up the paper and saw a picture of a person standing in a yard that had been destroyed by the floods and tornados. The story was about how to make matters worse people have not started sending these storm devastated areas trucks loads of dirty, torn clothes, broken toys and old kitchen things that don't even work. HOW COULD YOU DO THAT ???
I mean really do you think for one minute that you are helping someone whose life has just been trashed by sending them your left over trash. It is not true that something is better than nothing. These people have enough bad stuff, broken stuff and unusable stuff without you unloading and cleaning out your house to pretend that you feel better about yourself.
Let's look at the big picture here, just throw it in the trash, take $5.00 and make a donation to the Red Cross Disaster Aid or somewhere for them to put the money to good use. Don't please don't send people your unusable items. Can you believe some people actually sent used underwear - that's just plain disgusting !!
How would you feel if some Christmas your kids opened their presents to find that someone had given them used, broken toys as gift or dirty clothes. It amounts to the same things folks. These people have been through enough. Let's all get together and do the right thing for once. Throw the trash in the trash can where it goes and give as giving is intended with a good heart and a clear conscience. You will feel better about yourself and the people who receive will be happy to accept it.
GOD blesses those who bless others.
