Run Away, Run, Run, Run Away !!

Keep saying I'm going to start training to be able to run a 5K....keep sitting on the couch...keep sitting and sitting because in truth I have been running for over 2 years......running in my mind...running and running and running.

You can't escape by running a 5k, by sitting on the couch, by traveling, by staying busy 24-7, by giving all you have to others heart and soul, the calendar, the clock and time continues to roll around....the holiday season comes again and you can not escape no matter how much you sleep, you run or you try to stay busy.

Holidays are a time of joy, sharing, family and excitement of memories past and new beginnings.  We had our times, we had the big Thanksgivings, wall to wall people, tables full of food and bellies hurting from eating so much, football on the tube, kids running in and out, happiness, dirty dishes, smiles from ear to ear....excitement of the thrill of the new and the tried and true recipes being a success.

This Thanksgiving will be a part of that new normal, no house full of people, no full bellies, no kids running in and out, no new recipes.  But and that's a big BUT, I am not running away this year, I am traveling not away, but to something new, to a new adventure, to a place I have never seen, to see something new, to experience something different, the make new memories and to reflect on the past....PRAISE GOD for all those wonderful memories of the past.  Ones that fill my heart with such happiness that it might burst...I will not be sad this thanksgiving, I will be so thankful for all those wonderful, wonderful times we had together.

Remembering that last family Thanksgiving.  Jill had long ago taken over the cooking and I finally gotten to enjoy the eating, Lori bringing the green bean casserole (because she said that was all she could cook), D really liked that and Jill is a great cook so all the bases were covered.  Me sitting on the couch teasing the boys, Bo teasing Jill, D, Jeremy, Hale, Theo, Taylor, Carli,  Ian, Carter Dean, Lori a house full of love and laughter.  Lots of food and fun !!! Smiles on the faces of everyone...Blessed by ABBA for such a beautiful family to be loved by.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU AND YOURS !!!
