It's all changed, just as I have. I remember how much fun we had with Jill, Jeremy and Ian the first time we went together and the last time just D, Bo and I went. We stayed late, watched the crowds, talked about bikes and laughed as the girls hit on Bo (pre-Lori). The next time we went to BB&BBQ Bo and Lori left the house on the bike to go and enjoy the night. Memories, fun, laughter and good times. That's who we were and still try to be.
Many people have and will arrive for the days ahead and it brings home how important it is for everyone to remember to be cautious, be alert and put your phones down, keep your eyes on the road and look for the bikers. Bikers have the same rights to the road as you do. Bo and Lori were killed in a horrible ACCIDENT !! That's all it was an accident ! Because someone wasn't paying attention. Someone took one pain pill a little to soon and took his eyes off the road when he shouldn't have. Did he mean to do it NO !!! Could it have been prevented? All accidents can be prevented but you can't go back.
Let's be proactive and not reactive !!! Remember riding motorcycles is a way of life for many people. I love to ride on a motorcycle, I love the people that do. Let's make sure that not just during BB&BBQ but in the future we strive to do a better job of being courteous and looking out for the other guy.
Safe a life, it could be your own or someone's loved one - the grief you save could also be your own. It's a hard life to live when it's yours - I know, I live with it everyday.
